NYSCATE and CoSN will be hosting a CTO Clinic on May 25, 2023, in Albany, NY for all technology leaders. The theme of the day's event will be "Empowering Digital Transformation: Strategies and Best Practices for District Technology Leaders". The past few years have changed the impact that technology leaders, like Superintendents, District Administrators, Principals, CTOs, IT Directors, Network Admins, etc., have had in their schools, districts, and communities. We want to use this time to learn from our peers on practices that have been enabled to help advance teaching and learning with technology during the last few years.
We will be utilizing CoSN's Framework of Essential Skills for K-12 CTOs to share how we have all been adapting to meet the needs of our schools and districts. The Framework is comprised of three primary professional categories in the education technology field (Leadership & Vision, Understanding the Educational Environment, and Managing Technology and Support Resources). Topics for the CTO clinic will include discussion and learning about these 10 essential skill areas, outlining the responsibilities and knowledge needed to be a viable educational technology leader.
