Supporting Students with Unique Abilities: An Introduction Course.

  In this course we will help teachers support students who have unique abilities by leveling the playing field and leveraging technology so that students can learn independently. 

This course is worth 3 CTLE Hours

Course Purpose

1. To learn strategies that support students with unique learning abilities.

2. To learn tools that will provide all students with equal access to knowledge.

List of Modules

• Module 1:  Introduction

  • This module will introduce you to multiple strategies to support students with unique learning abilities, including Universal Design for Learning, Accessibility, and Assistive Technology.

• Module 2: Accessibility Tools

  • This module will introduce you to accessibility tools that are available to your students. You will learn which tools support which disabilities and others that will benefit all learners.

• Module 3: Google and Microsoft

  • In this module, we'll learn about Google and Microsoft's specific accessibility features. We will gain a better understanding about what they are, how to access them, and different tools to support students with disabilities.

• Module 4: Chrome Extensions

  • In this module, we'll learn about Google Chrome extensions. We will gain a better understanding about what they are, how to access them, and different tools to support students with disabilities.
