CS & DF in the Science Class

Computer Science & Digital Fluency in the Science Class

In this course we will explore applications of the New York State Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards (NYSCSDF) as they reinforce and support New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS), a series of performance expectations that define what students should understand and be able to do as a result of their study of science.  Many applications of the standards may be incorporated as habits of practice in the classroom, becoming a seamless component of instructional activities, while others will add depth and important connections to the disciplinary core ideas, cross cutting concepts, and science and engineering practices of the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS).  By the end of this course, you will create a project or lesson plan that blends standards from both NYSSLS and NYSCSDF.

This course is worth 3 CTLE Hours
